Work included verification of the actual parking stall count, removal of parking blocks, cleaning all parking lot drains, installation of temporary mats at the building’s entry and exit points, mechanical sweeping of the lot, placement of construction stakes, and marking existing loop locations. KC conducted all work to ensure minimum impact on CBP personnel and coordinated all construction activities with the government. Further work included removing existing pavement and granular subgrade to ensure new concrete would match with the existing concrete, then backfilling the granular subgrade, compacting it, and applying the new concrete. Sample testing of concrete was carried out by an independent laboratory.
Base and hot mix asphalt were applied to unpaved areas. We saw cut all potholes and pavement cracks in asphalt areas to repair them by applying hot liquid asphalt to the area to be chip sealed, then applying crushed aggregate, and finally using a rubber tire roller to produce a tighter chip seal finish. The parking lot was swept to remove surplus aggregate rock from the surface and a slurry seal/chip coat was applied. After the chip seal was set, we applied a final seal coat, restriped and painted all of the parking lot markings per the provided parking designation plan, reinstalled the parking blocks to meet the finished parking configuration, repainted all previously painted curbing, and disposed of demolition and construction debris. All work was completed in compliance with all environmental and regulatory requirements.
